Bach Flower Remedies

The Bach Flower Remedies were pioneered in the 1920s and 1930s by Dr Edward Bach. They capture the positive vibrational energy potential of flowers, which Dr Bach believed offered a holistic approach to emotional balance providing a natural simple system to help harmonise the body. They allow us to discover the positive side of ourselves.

They do not treat physical illnesses directly, but by restoring harmony to the mind they allow the body’s natural defences to work more easily. Negative emotional states can lead to energy blocks in the body, which in turn can lead to us experiencing physical ailments – the flower essences help to unblock these energy blocks. As they work on an energy level they are safe for anyone to use and can be used alongside conventional & complimentary treatments.

There are 38 flower remedies in Dr Bach’s system and each remedy relates to a different emotional state. They are divided into seven groups -

Face your Fears (Fear Group) - Aspen, Cherry Plum, Mimulus, Red Chestnut & Rock Rose

Live the Day (Insufficient Interest in Present Circumstances) - Chestnut Bud, Clematis, Honeysuckle, Mustard, Olive, White Chestnut & Wild Rose

Reach out to Others (Loneliness Group) - Heather, Impatiens & Water Violet

Know your own Mind (Uncertainty Group) - Cerato, Gentian, Gorse, Hornbeam, Scleranthus & Wild Oat

Find Joy & Hope (Despondency & Despair Group) - Crab Apple, Elm, Larch, Oak, Pine, Star of Bethlehem, Sweet Chestnut & Willow

Live & Let Live (Over Care of Welfare of Others) - Beech, Chicory, Rock Water, Vervain & Vine

Stand your Ground (Over-Sensitive to Influence & Ideas) - Agrimony, Centaury, Holly & Walnut

Dr Bach’s most famous and popular combination is RESCUE remedy, which is a combination of five individual essences and is used by millions of people to help them through stressful situations.

Flower Remedies help us to realise our full potential and be true to ourselves. The remedies we need can vary as we travel on life's journey.
